With Red, White and BOOM! just around the corner, we decided it was time to let you in on everything else we have going on this summer and into the fall. If you need Red, White and BOOM! info, check out our events page...everything you need is right there.
Fasten your seat belts...this is going to get bumpy! We've got a ton of info to share starting with the week after Red, White and BOOM!. Get the family together and head out to the South Texas Regional Airport for the first Flyin' Film Festival. The City of Hondo along with the Raye Theater and yours truly will host an evening event filled with games, concessions, a static display of planes and an outdoor viewing of everyone's favorite, Top Gun. Bring your frisbees and your kites and have some fun, Top Gun style before the movie begins. Admission is free. Get all the details on our Events page.
We are very excited to host our first Chamber to Chamber event out at the South Texas Regional Training Center. This event was created to get area chambers together to brainstorm, spitball and collude on events in each chamber's respective area. Several speakers are lined up to share valuable info. The Texas Film Commission will also be presenting us with the Texas Film Friendly Certificate, so we're very pumped about that...we'll post some pictures on our social media pages, so keep your eyes open for that.
New Teacher Luncheon will be held August 7. This is a fantastic event created to welcome new teachers in the Hondo and D'Hanis ISD's. If you'd like to sponsor this event, please visit our Events page for more info, or give us a call!
All the moving parts to everyone's favorite event, Hunt Hondo, are just about lined up and ready to run. There really is something for everyone at Hunt Hondo. Get your friends together and head out to Paloma Pachanga early Saturday morning, August 11 and participate in the cross-country 5k, Outrun the Gun. Once you catch your breath, head over to the pavillion to participate in the skeet shoot overlooking the Hondo Creek, the Archery Competition, the Dove 101 Seminar and the Kids Fishin'. All of these events will run until 1:00 pm so you'll have plenty time to do it all. Get your little cutie dressed up and enter them in the Kid's Camo Contest held at 10:00.
Come back to Paloma Pachanga at 7:00pm for the Dove Dance and Parisa Pachanga. Our "pachanga" was so successful last year, we had to create a special, specific time for it...and what better way than to include a dance?! This years' entertainment is the very popular local band Landry Scott Ritter with Double Bogey!
All tickets including, race, dance and raffle can be found under our Events page....hop on over there and get your tickets now!!
