It's Fall Y'all!

Fall Frenzy is happening in Hondo! It's a whirlwind of events that will have you grabbing your pumpkin spice latte and joining in all these fun community activities.

First stop: Shop Hop! This awesome event gives you the chance to visit our local shops in an evening filled with friends, sales, and refreshments. Get your Shop Hop flyer signed, and you'll be entered into a drawing to win an incredible gift basket filled with goodies from all our participating stores. This is the perfect opportunity to get started on your Christmas shopping and to check out the wonderful stores we have right here in Hondo. So grab some friends on October 5th from 5-9 p.m., and come on out to Shop Hop!

Next, we have the Scarecrow Decorating Contest. Start decorating your storefront/business now for the fall season! Email us here at the Chamber to be entered in the contest. Entry deadline is October 5th, and scarecrows must be up by October 8th. The winner will be announced Thursday, October 11th during "Let's Go Live!" Get those scarecrows up, and let's welcome in fall (and hopefully some cooler weather!)

It's another great movie night at the Square! On October19th, at 7 p.m., a Halloween classic, Hocus Pocus, will be showing at Memorial Square. This event is FREE and refreshments can be purchased on site. No outside food or drinks please. Bring your family and friends and enjoy a fun night out!

Who likes running? Who would only run if a zombie was chasing you? Well, we have the event for you---The Zombie Run! Get registered for this exciting 5k on October 23rd at 6:30 p.m. Registration forms are available at the Hondo Public Library. This is the perfect opportunity to get some exercise while having a lot of fun!

Have you ever wondered about Dia de los Muertos? Here's a chance for you to find out more! On October 27th, from 11-1, come to the Hondo Public Library for educational kids' activities and to learn the history of Dia de los Muertos. Then, come back on November 2nd, from 4:30-5:30, to celebrate Dia de los Muertos! There will be a procession and traditional food and drink served. Both of these events are free, so come celebrate this rich tradition!

Last, but not least, we end Fall Frenzy with Hondoween on October 31st at 5:30. Take your kids out to Memorial Square to get their fill of free candy and games! Get those costumes together now because you don't want to miss this!
