First, we want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who made Christmas in God's Country such a success! We really appreciate our terrific sponsors, amazing volunteers, and everyone who came out to support this event! The rain altered our plans for Friday, but Saturday’s chilly weather put us all in the Christmas spirit! Our Market Day vendors provided us with unique gifts to complete (or start) our Christmas shopping. Our food vendors supplied us with a wide variety of tasty treats. Santa Claus and his merry workshop (led by the Hondo Public Library) brought huge smiles to all the children’s faces. The Lighted Night Parade was spectacular, and the community participation was tremendous! On Sunday evening, Plants & Pillars led us in a meaningful Community Worship service that focused our attention on the Reason for the season. It was a fabulous weekend!
We will be kicking off Experience 90 in 2019! Experience 90 is a guide that lists all participating eateries, boutiques, and entertainment. These businesses are all Chamber members located in Castroville, Hondo, and D'Hanis. When you visit these businesses, you get your guide stamped. After a certain number of stamps in your guide, you will be entered into a multiple gift basket drawing with fabulous prizes! We are still finalizing the details, so stay tuned for more information about this fun opportunity!
We have begun a weekly Facebook post series called, "We Want to Hear From You." Every Sunday night, we will be asking a new question about what people would like to see from businesses in our community. This feedback will be a great resource for current and potential business owners. It also allows the community a voice and input in business development. Be sure to check these posts out!
