Designed with the whole family in mind, we have a day of fun filled events planned. An archery contest, kids camo contest, skeet shooting and food!! Lots of food. Food vendors will be available all day serving up an array of menu items to satisfy all your cravings, and beer and wine will be available for purchase at the beer well during the day and in the Fair Hall for the evening activities!
The day begins with our “Outrun the Gun 5K” fun run/walk at 8:00 am. Awards will be given for top runners in three divisions: youth, men & women. An award will also be given to the runner dressed in their best camo attire. Entry fee for the 5K is $20 and includes an “Outrun the Gun” t-shirt!
The Outdoors Expo will begin at 10:00 am and lasts all day until 4:00 pm. For all of you outdoor enthusiasts, you won’t want to miss the Expo. Browse through the booths in the Medina County Fair Hall and the Hondo City Park and discover everything outdoors. We invite all outdoor enthusiasts to gather and gear up for hunting season. Whether you are looking for hunting/fishing gear or apparel, knives, rifles, deer processors, taxidermists or outfitters, you are sure to find it at the Hunt Hondo Outdoors Expo. Admission to the Expo is $5, and kids 12 and under are free! Interested in being a vendor at the Expo? Online registration is open at hondochamber.org. This is a great opportunity to sell hunts, market your business or launch a new product.
Come back at 7:00 pm for our evening festivities. Enjoy live music and Parisa sampling until 11:00 pm at our 3rd annual Parisa Pachanga! A “cook-off” of sorts, Parisa Pachanga is a contest to see who has the BEST of the county’s favorite snack. This event brings out old and young who have held the family’s recipe in hand since birth.
